Connect WhatsApp

Connecting WhatsApp lets Reeply send and receive messages on your agency's number. You do this once, from your workspace settings.

Where to connect

  1. Open Workspace settings from the menu.
  2. Go to the WhatsApp connection tab.
  3. Choose how you want to connect (below), and follow the prompts from Meta.

Only a workspace owner or admin can connect or change the WhatsApp number.

Two ways to connect

Keep WhatsApp on your phone (Coexistence)

Connect your existing WhatsApp Business app number. Your team keeps chatting from the app on the phone while Reeply handles messages too. Groups and calls stay app-only. Best if you want to keep using the WhatsApp Business app day to day.

Move fully to Reeply (Cloud API)

Connect the number to the WhatsApp Cloud API for full features and higher volume. You'll stop using the WhatsApp Business app on that number, and switching back later means deregistering and re-verifying it — so choose this when you're ready to run the number through Reeply.

Which number can I use?
Use a number your business controls. For Coexistence it must be on the WhatsApp Business app (version 2.24.17 or newer) and not already connected elsewhere. If a number is already on personal WhatsApp, move it to the WhatsApp Business app first.

After connecting

Once connected, messages to your number start flowing into the shared inbox, where your team can reply by hand straight away.

The assistant does not switch itself on
AI auto-reply is off until you turn it on, so connecting a number never puts a bot in front of your customers by surprise. When you are ready, open Workspace settings → AI assistant and enable AI auto-reply. It answers from your knowledge base, so add your material first.
